Welcome to a new year of Faith Formation at St. Philip's Church. Whether you are a returning family or brand new to our program - we are so glad you will be joining us this year! I hope everyone had a restful and relaxing summer.
Faith Formation provides religious instruction and spiritual formation for children Preschool (age 3 before Sept 1)-Grade 11. Children have the opportunity to learn the teachings of the Catholic Church, to grow in love for God, to worship God as members of our parish community and to nurture friendships rooted in faith. The primary goal of our program is to help children develop a relationship with God that will support, sustain, challenge and nourish them throughout their entire lives. Our program consists of weekly classroom sessions, seasonal celebrations, and prayer experiences.
Walking by faith is a lifelong process, and children need continued formation as they grow so that their faith can grow along with their questions and their dreams. Students are not "finished" with their religious education once they have received First Communion any more than they are "finished" with their academic education once they have learned to read. Our program prepares them for a faith journey that will last a lifetime!
Our first day of class is Sunday September 23 for children age 3-First Grade. Please check the parish website for additional details on our "Sunday School" program. Wednesday September 12 is our Kick-Off night for Our "Wednesday Evening Faith Formation" program. All youth in Grades 2-11 and their parents will gather in the Social Hall at church on the 12th of September to learn more about our events and activities scheduled for the upcoming year.
Our parish’s committed volunteers and staff look forward to another year of sharing our Catholic faith with your children. I greatly appreciate your continued cooperation and support, and I ask for your prayers as we begin this school year. Please know that you and your family are in my prayers.
