Oremus, A Guide to Catholic Prayer

Oremus is an 8 week Study to help you become inspired to have a deeper prayer life as you learn how to open yourself to God and hear His voice as He speaks to your heart.  Fr. Mark Toups will guide us in contemplative and meditative prayer through a prayer form called lectio divina and "imaginative" prayer.  Contemplative and meditative prayer are not just for priests, nuns, and monks.  God calls all Christians to grow in holiness and this type of prayer helps us to grow in an intimate relationship with God through prayer.  This means you and me!

Our meeting time will be from 9:30 - 11:00 am every Wednesday morning after 8 am Mass at St. Gertrudes.  After coffee, we will travel to the home of Bob and Judy Markgraf (due to medical reasons for some of our participants) where our study will take place.  Please come to join us around our kitchen table and in front of our TV to have companionship and community sharing.  The dates and chapter headings are as follows:

Apr 15 - What is Prayer:

Apr 22 - Before You Pray

Apr 29 - Lectio Divina

May 6 - Relational Prayer

May 13 - Spiritual Senses

May 20 - Discernment in Prayer

May 27 - Dealing with Distractions

Please register by Apr 8, 2015 by contacting Mike McKneil at St. Gertrude's - 320-693-7801 or 320-693-9496
